Agricultural Tractor Redesign Improves Maneuverability & Operator Comfort
Reimagined tractor series features the latest precision technology, increasing productivity and optimizing time in-field

Livestock farming, mixed agriculture, and field operations place high demands on tractor maneuverability, drivability, and operator comfort, particularly where frequent transport work and implement changes are required. A newly redesigned tractor series in the 155–185 horsepower range addresses these requirements through mechanical updates, revised chassis geometry, and expanded digital integration.

Presented by Case IH at NCBA CattleCon 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee (February 3–5, booth 1936), the latest generation of the Puma series reflects a full vehicle redesign aimed at improving handling efficiency and day-long usability while maintaining compatibility with modern agricultural implements.

Transmission options tailored to operational profiles
The tractor platform is offered with two transmission concepts to support different working conditions. A continuously variable transmission option is designed to deliver smooth power delivery, optimized traction control, and extended service intervals, supporting applications that require precise speed regulation. Alternatively, a dual-clutch powershift transmission provides uninterrupted torque transfer, fast directional changes, and automated shift strategies, which are advantageous for loader work and frequent shuttle operations.

Both transmission architectures are intended to reduce operator workload while maintaining consistent power delivery during demanding field and transport tasks.

Chassis updates and handling improvements
Mechanical revisions focus on maneuverability and stability. A compact layout enables a turning radius reduced by approximately 20 percent compared to the previous configuration, improving efficiency in confined spaces such as livestock yards and headlands. A redesigned front axle suspension contributes to improved roll control and transport stability at higher speeds, while updated braking responsiveness and revised hitch and linkage systems enhance implement control.

Precision agriculture and connectivity
The tractor’s electronic architecture supports optional ISOBUS compatibility and Tractor Implement Management (TIM), enabling automated coordination between tractor and implement functions. The platform is also prepared for future technology integration through expandable hardware and software infrastructure. Machine and agronomic data management is supported via connected services, allowing operators to monitor performance and operational metrics across fleets.

Cab environment and operator ergonomics
Operator experience is addressed through a newly designed cab featuring revised suspension, a semi-active seat option, and an updated armrest layout for intuitive control access. A large in-cab display centralizes machine and guidance information, reducing the need for multiple interfaces and supporting extended operating periods with lower fatigue.

The redesigned tractor series was introduced alongside other recent additions to the manufacturer’s livestock-focused equipment portfolio. Demonstrations of the updated models and associated technologies were scheduled during NCBA CattleCon 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee, providing operators and fleet managers with direct access to technical details and configuration options.
